The
Abergavenny in Rodmell is a privately owned oak beamed English Free
House with the warm and friendly atmosphere of a traditional village
pub.
We
are proud to have been featured in The Good Beer Guide as Oliver
Bostwick & Jon Cleall keep an excellent cellar of ales.

The
Management Team headed by Jon Cleall will be running
the Abergavenny as a family friendly pub with a delicious mouth
watering menu crafted by David Cluer who heads
our kitchen brigade.
His
experience in Sussex brings a wide knowledge & passion for
seasonal local produce, which will be reflected in our daily menu's
& Specials Boards .
David
was previously the Head Chef at the Wingrove in Alfriston.
Come
and enjoy a memorable meal in the delightful village setting of
Rodmell, which is nestled in the South Downs National Park, 4 miles
south of Lewes on the edge of the South Downs Way.
Rodmell
was the home of Leonard & Virginia Woolf, Monks House, which
featured in the Bafta award winning film "
The Hours "
The
National Trust property "Monks House"
is open to the Public from Wednesday to Sunday afternoons 2pm to
6pm from April to the end of October.
Share
the warmth of the roaring log fire during the cold winter months,
or make your wish and throw your spare coins into our wishing well...or
perhaps even catch sight of one of our ghostly spirits which have
been known to spook our visitors !
